Go Back In Time With This Pacific Grove Old Retreat Craftsman
Pacific Grove craftsman styled homes are among the most desirable homes in Pacific Grove and the Old Retreat part of town is a great place to live!
Just two blocks from downtown shopping and eating and a block from Lovers Point, who wouldn’t want this 2 bedroom, 1 bath Victorian Era Craftsman home situated in the heart of Pacific Grove! With classic craftsman curb appeal and good looks, this Pacific Grove cottage has everything you need, and nothing you don’t! It starts with a great front porch with Craftsman pillars supporting the overhung roof. Exposed beams and rafters are cut to sharp points accentuating the artistic flair that went into designing and building these homes during the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 1900’s. Continuing with tradition, the wood trim around the doors and storybook windows is exaggerated along with the large attic vent.
Once inside, the Craftsman charm continues with wood detail throughout the interior, the original wood floors, a rough faced brick fireplace and tall baseboards. The bedrooms are ample size and the bathroom includes a claw-foot tub with a shower. The kitchen has seen minor upgrades over the years and includes a dishwasher, a gas stove, a large stainless steel sink and wooden counter tops.

Old Retreat Neighborhood Real Estate in Pacific Grove
Pacific Grove's Old Retreat is a reference to the area in Pacific grove which was home to the old Methodist summer retreat which took place in Pacific Grove every year during this towns early days of development. The Old Retreat was a very specific area of town located below Pine from New Monterey's border to around Congress Avenue, although today the general area around downtown is loosely referred to as the Old Retreat.
People love the Old Retreat area of Pacific Grove and Old Retreat real estate because of the uniquely Pacific Grove lifestyle it offers. The Old Retreat, as you will read below, was made of of tent structures in the early days so the lots are very small (30' x 60' to be exact) and don't allow for very large homes. The location is perfect as you can easily walk to the water, Lovers Point and downtown Pacific Grove. And although we are on rocky terrain, the terrain is relatively flat when compared with other seaside communities, making it an ideal place to walk. With all of that said, Pacific Grove's Old Retreat real estate is among the most desirable in the city.

Mark ... 122 17th street at Pacific Grove looks like a wonderful craftsman style home. Best wishes with your listing.
Sorry for the delayed response Harrison. Thank you. It is a great house. We had issues with a tenant who wasnt allowing it to be shown so things have been a little delayed but now that they have moved out, we are in full swing and hope to have it sold soon!
